Biographical NotesGraham Lawler has been a mathematics educator for over 25 years. He is a former head of mathematics and is the author of BBC Bitesize maths. He is a regular broadcaster and educational journalist and teaches mathematics online through the Studyline academy. Graham holds degrees from Liverpool University (for which he studied at Chester College) and from the Open University. He further holds an MA in education from the OU and a post-graduate advanced diploma in mathematics education. Finally he has successfully completed courses at City University and London University in online education and is therefore one of the few qualified online educators in the UK. He is currently writing up his PhD at Cardiff University where he has been researching television as a medium to increase interest in mathematics.
